My honest answer is: a bit of both. Your birth number and life path number show the pattern you came in with. (If you’re new to these, start with my simple guide to numerology.) But the way you live each day decides how much room that pattern has to grow.

I like to think of luck as a door. You can’t force it open. But you can keep the doorway clear so good things can find their way in.

These 15 small habits come from what I’ve learned and seen in my own work with numbers and luck. None of them is hard, and none of them is rules you must follow out of fear. Think of them as gentle ways to live with care. Try the ones that feel right to you.

Table of Contents

Good luck starts with your name and signature

Good Luck habits for your business

Good Luck in Your Home

Good Luck at your desk and daily habits

Start your good luck with just one habit

Your own pattern

Good luck starts with your name and signature

1. Do keep your signature simple, clear and rising – You sign your name again and again, often on papers that shape your life. I believe your signature carries a little of your energy each time. Let it be easy to read, and let it slant gently upward, like a plane taking off.

2. Do draw a line under your signature – Think of this line as a platform your name stands on. Keep it straight and steady under the name, not cutting through it. It’s a small touch that gives your signature a feeling of support.

3. Don’t fill your signature with circles, scribbles or backward loops – A signature that loops back on itself is like taking one step forward and one step back. Circles and scribbles can make it look closed or confused. Not everyone agrees on the small details, but a clear, forward-moving style is a good place to start.

I share more about names in 20 big truths about name numerology.

Good Luck habits for your business

4. Do give your business a short, easy name – A business name is spoken and written thousands of times, so it should be easy to say and remember. The letters also add up to a number, and it’s wise to choose one that adds up to a good total. What counts as “good” depends on your birth number and life path number, and I look at that closely in a reading.

5. Don’t put a picture on top of your name in your logo – One example I’ve seen is a builder whose logo shows a building sitting right on top of this name. Your name should carry the business freely, not sit under a weight. Keep the name clear and let any image sit beside it instead.

Good Luck in Your Home

6. Do give away what you haven’t used in a year – Stuck spaces tend to mean stuck energy. If something has just been sitting there for a year, let someone else enjoy it. One drawer or one shelf at a time is enough.

7. Do fix dripping taps – To me, a dripping tap is like money slowly draining away. Even if you see it only as a reminder, it’s a good one. Small leaks, in a home or in a budget, are worth fixing early.

8. Do keep your spaces clean and dry – Damp corners and piles of clutter make a home feel heavy. Keep bathrooms and kitchens dry, and wipe up spills as they happen. A fresh, dry home simply feels lighter to live in.

9. Do let light in through your north and east windows – I’ve found that windows on the north and east bring in good energy, so keep them open and clear when you can. Morning light from the east is a lovely way to start the day.

10. Do keep your money and important papers in the south-west – I see the south-west part of the home is the steady, stable corner. That’s why it’s wise to keep your safe, savings papers and important documents there. Even if you can’t move things, keeping them in one tidy place is a good habit.

11. Don’t hang a mirror facing your bed – I suggest the east wall as a good place for a mirror, and say a mirror shouldn’t face or hang over the bed. If you can’t move it, cover it at night. Your bedroom then feels calmer and more restful.

12. Do cook facing east – In the kitchen, I suggest that whoever cooks should face east while they work. It’s an easy change in many homes, and it puts the person who feeds the family facing the morning sun.

Your birth date shows a pattern, and each year adds its own colour. Do sit up straight when you study or work, facing east or north – I always suggest studying sitting up straight, facing east or north, rather than lying down. Lying in bed with a book or laptop blurs the line between rest and work. A proper seat signals to your mind that it’s time to focus.

14. Do respect your things, and say thank for them – Your phone, your bag, your shoes and your desk all help you through the day. I suggest treating your belongings with real respect: keep them clean, put them back in their place, and repair them when they break. Some even start each morning with a quiet thank you for what they have.

15. Don’t keep heavy or sad pictures on your walls. Choose cheerful ones – What you see every day slowly shapes how you feel. I suggest letting go of images like a weeping woman, a person bent under a heavy load, or fierce lions at the door. Choose a sunrise, children playing, or anything that makes you breathe a little easier.

Even the numbers you use every day matter. Read more in how your phone number affects your mind.

Start your good luck with just one habit

You don’t need all fifteen at once. Pick the one that speaks to you most, try it for a week, and notice how your space, your work and your mood feel.

These habits aren’t magic, and they don’t promise anything. They are simply ways of living with care.

Your own pattern

Everything above is general.
